What is Flash Training?

Flash Training is how Notion Recall helps you actually remember your cards. Look at a card, rate how well you recalled it, and the app works out when to show it again. There is no review schedule to maintain.

How a session goes

1

Start a session

The app picks what is due for review, plus a few cards you have not studied yet. There is nothing to decide.

How many cards a session holds, and how many of them are new, is up to you.

2

Check the card, then rate your recall

Cards come one at a time. Look at the front, try to recall the answer, then tap to reveal the back.

All that is left is to say how well you knew it: Again / Hard / Good / Easy.

The next review date is set for you

Your rating decides when that card comes back, following the forgetting curve. Cards you know well drift further apart; shaky ones return sooner.

You never have to keep track of what to review, or when.

Why the forgetting curve

Memory fades from the moment you learn something. Reviewing while it is still fresh does little, and reviewing after it has gone means learning it again from scratch.

Flash Training aims for the point where a memory is just starting to fade. Your rating feeds that calculation, so cards you know well drift further apart while the ones you struggle with keep coming back. Same time spent, more of it retained.

Flash Training is part of Plus. What you rate here feeds the dashboard, where you can follow your progress and mastery. The free plan still covers browsing your cards, list view, and card style customization — see the plan comparison for the full picture.
